Pythium root rot control
Segway

Pythium root rot is one of the most commonly found diseases on ornamentals.  We have worked quite a bit on its control over the past ten years with various results.  One of the most interesting new fungicides for this disease is Segway.  We have seen very good to excellent control in our trials.  What have your experiences been if you have tried this fungicide.

Lectures in Bloom
Las Veags meeting

Well - I am learning things about this blog deal.  I set the time frame for retaining comments too short and now nothing is here.  I am setting it for 30 days now so don't delay if you want to see something before the internet sucks it back into hyperspace.

I had originally asked about your experience with daylily rot this year - we have seen Phytophthora cropping up.  Heard back from one California company that Coleonema has been suddenly dying lately which is a characteristic of this crop and its the right time of year for it.

I just got back from the Lectures In Bloom seminar that is held by Syngenta eveyr year in Las Vegas.  We had a great audience and heard about some new products that should be registered for ornamentals eventually.  We are expecitng to see Subdue MAXX with a foliar label in the next month or so and that will be a big help for aerial Phytophthora and also downy mildew.  Make sure you read the lable when it comnes out and follow it carefully.  we are expecting to see a 48 hour REI and also a requirement to tank mix for this foliar use.
